Jennifer Mariángel Rodríguez Carrasquilla, born on April 3, 2000, in Panama City, Panama, is a prominent Panamanian track and field athlete specializing in the javelin throw and heptathlon. Standing at 1.64 meters and weighing 130 pounds, she has been a significant figure in Panamanian athletics.
In April 2023, Rodríguez set a national record in the javelin throw with a mark of 46.79 meters during the Championship of Clubs and Municipalities in Bogotá, Colombia. This achievement was particularly notable as she was primarily preparing for the heptathlon, which includes the javelin event. Her previous personal best in the javelin was 38 meters, making this a substantial improvement.
Rodríguez began her athletics journey at the age of 11 during a “Verano Feliz” program at the Rommel Fernández Stadium. An encounter with a coach who recognized her potential led her to pursue the sport seriously. By 2012, she was part of Panama’s national infant athletics team.
